Refund Policy

Last updated: July 20, 2026

This is placeholder legal text for layout. Final wording to be reviewed.

1. Overview

Refunds under this policy are deduction based. This means that when a refund is available, it is calculated as your total payment minus any costs already incurred on your order, rather than a full refund of the entire amount paid.

2. Cancellations Before Submission

If you cancel your order before we submit your documents to the U.S. Department of State, Office of Authentications, you will receive a refund of your payment minus a cancellation fee. The cancellation fee covers order setup, review, and administrative costs already incurred on your behalf.

3. Non Refundable Costs

The following costs are non refundable once they have been used or incurred, even if the remainder of your order is later canceled or adjusted:

  • The federal filing fee paid to the Office of Authentications once your documents have been submitted.
  • The cost of a prepaid shipping label once it has been generated or used.

4. Completed Orders

Once an order has been completed, meaning your documents have been apostilled or authenticated by the Office of Authentications and shipped back to you, the order is not eligible for a refund. This applies regardless of any embassy legalization step you complete afterward for non Hague countries, since that step takes place after our service is finished and outside of our control.

5. Shipping Delays

Because carrier transit times are outside of our control, shipping delays on their own are not grounds for a refund. Our processing time estimates apply to federal processing only and begin once your documents reach us.

6. How to Request a Cancellation or Refund

To request a cancellation or refund, contact us as soon as possible with your order number. We will confirm what stage your order has reached and let you know the refund amount available, if any, based on the sections above.

7. Contact

Refund requests can be sent to help@usfederalapostille.org or 202-202-9433, or by mail to 712 H Street NE, Suite 1306, Washington, DC 20002.
